Reeling: Dance on Screen

Mile Zero Dance is bringing some incredible dances to Edmonton from across the country and beyond. Dance made specifically for film is a new genre that shows incredible potential and festivals like this are springing up wordwide. Some featured works include award-winning “Horizon of Exile” by Isabel Rocamora, “Blush” by Ultima Vez and shorts by Montreal’s Mouvement Perpetuel.

Thursday, Feb 11th: 9 pm: “Badlands Project”- see the results of Mile Zero Dance’s collaborative project with Hideo Arai set in the rough terrain of Drumheller, directed by DJ Buchanan. Reception to follow

Friday, Feb 12th: 7pm: “Sex, Death and Arabesque” - a program of dance shorts

Saturday, Feb13th: 9 pm: “Blush” by Belgium’s Ultima Vez

Sunday, Feb 14th: 2:30 pm: “The Gravity of Desire” - a program of dance shorts

All screenings @ Metro Cinema in the Citadel Theatre, 9828 - 101A Ave

Tickets: $8 for students, seniors, FAVA and MZD members; $10 general.
